  Prednisone was prescribed to our dog when he was diagnosed for lymphoma. Although Prednisone doesn’t extend the life of the dog it was supposed to shrink the tumour. It did seem to make our dogs tumour shrink for about 3 weeks before it came back and we had to put him to sleep. It also stimulated his appetite. Prednisone is a pretty potent hormone with bad side effects long term though, so I would recommend it only for something terminal like lymphoma.
